Prepare for your Wedding Day Makeup Session
Arrive with a clean face:
Please wash your face prior to your session (your artist will tone, treat & hydrate).
Follow a skincare regimen pre-event for the best day of results:
Use a premium skin care routine for your skin type (wash, toner, moisturize & SPF) for at least 60 days leading up to the big day.
Exfoliate 2-3 times per week (for most skin).
If you suffer from dry skin, it’s important to get on a high quality moisturizing routine- please schedule a consultation.
We recommend you do a #60daywaterchallenge leading up to your wedding!
Sensitive skin
We use premium non-allergenic products, but please specify any skin sensitivities in your preview survey.
Please be sure to tell your artist of any allergies (includes bridal party).
Bridal Party/MOB/Guest Makeup
If your bridal party/guests opted out of a makeup trial, please have each person submit their inspiration photos as well as a photo of themselves to you ahead of time with as many different views of the look possible. Please compile those images into a spreadsheet and send one email to maryashanti@madeuponthego.com with your date and name as the subject. This will allow us to properly plan your timeline.
Purchasing Makeup
Your artist will provide all tools and products needed for the day!
If you would like to purchase touch up kits for yourself or party please let us know before booking your trial.
If you would like to add on the lip color your artist used on you for day of just let us know at your preview session!
Prepare for your Wedding Day Hair Session
Arrive with clean, fully air dried hair:
You should wash and air dry your hair the night before or morning of your wedding depending on density.
If you would prefer that we blow it out pre service, let us know so we can add the service and extra time to your booking.
Your stylist will use product to ‘dirty up’ your hair if necessary, so no need to worry about your hair being ‘too clean’!
Curly hair:
If you want a style with your natural curl pattern, please wash and air dry before your session only adding a tiny bit of leave in (no other products unless discussed prior with your artist).
If you want a style that requires your hair be straight ahead of curling it, let us know so we can add the service and extra time to your booking.
Hair Extensions
Please make us aware if you're using hair extensions as in most cases we need to plan additional time.
If you would like to have extensions installed day or week of with one of our extensions specialists just text us :)
Bridal Party/MOB/Guest Hair
If your bridal party/guests opted out of a hair trial, please have each person submit their inspiration photos as well as a photo of themselves to you ahead of time with as many different views of the look possible (pay attention to details such as type or curl, part placement, volume level). Please compile those images into a spreadsheet and send one email to maryashanti@madeuponthego.com with your date and name as the subject. This will allow us to properly plan your timeline.
Timing your Sessions:
Each individual service will take 20-60 minutes (with the exception of Full Glam), depending on desired look.
Tier 1 Hair (20-30 min) Tier 2 Hair (30-45 min) Tier 3 Hair (60+min)
Natural Makeup (20 min) Soft Glam Makeup (30-45 min) Glam Makeup (60+min)
Prior to your wedding, we will create a schedule for you and your party’s services. It is extremely important that everyone arrive for their appointment atleast 15 minutes prior to their scheduled time. This heavily effects the quality of each clients session. Our artist are trained to stay on schedule to ensure for a stress free session. Please trust our guidance with timing as we have specialized in weddings for over 10 years :).
Please be mindful of distractions such as cell phone use, side conversations and interruptions during services. Stopping mid application will affect the quality of your services. Many of our beauty products have a drying time of seconds and cannot be properly blended when stopping even for 5 seconds. In the event of constant interruption your artist may stop performing services and request you session be placed at the end and take the next client. This is not to be rude but to be efficient and protect the integrity of your makeup!
