Made Up On The Go #realweddings: Kevin & Kathleen's Botanical Dream... bright florals, lace + boho vibes!
From the moment I hopped on the phone with Kathleen, I absolutely fell in love with her bubbly, free-spirited vibes! Listening to her share her story of her and Kevin instantly melted my heart. I actually met Kathleen at a former brides wedding (her bestie Yvonne). At that wedding her #bae of 7 years & now hubby, Kevin, looked at her and said "I want this for us"! #itwasdestiny
The consultation...
Kathleen was a dream bride... I felt like I was talking to myself! Her vision was simple, loose & boho and she wanted to include a braid and flower crown. She wanted her makeup to look amazing in person and on camera but also to still feel like her.
She gave me creative freedom which to me is heaven, because it means that I'm able to customize my approach to accentuate your best features just as I would do for a celebrity! Often times I can see beauty that you may not yet see in yourself and I absolutely love when I'm able to show that to you!
The vision...
Kathleen's flawless, porcelain skin and long voluptuous locks were a dream to work with! When she sent me her no makeup picture with her dress (the first step in our creative process together) I was so hype! I knew this was going to be epic!
The look we created at her preview appointment was sooo gorg!
Hair: Since her wedding would be outdoors in a garden and the dress had such gorgeous romantic detail, I wanted to create a super loose and effortless low bun with a ton of tussles to emulate a really flowy boho vibe. Having it in a bun would show off the dress, help keep her cool (super hot day) and the tussles would give her the feel of it being down.
Makeup: For her skin, I prepped her super well so the makeup would not only be waterproof, but also sweatproof, and still super dewy.

Kathleen fell head over heels with the look we created! The look on her face when she looked in the mirror was priceless! Her post preview feedback made me crack up & warmed my heart!

The only thing was... (transparent moment)... I had envisioned this amazingly messy fishtail braid for the big day. We tried during the preview, however, I COULD NOT nail it! So we went with the dutch braid at the preview.. and though she was 300% in love, I still really wanted to go the extra mile... So a million YouTube videos later, I surprised Kathleen with this text.. & now felt completely fulfilled with the boho dreamy look we would create!
The Best Day Ever...
There was a blissful, relaxed and warm vibe on Kathleen and Kevin's morning! The Crossed Keys Estate definitely knew how to pamper the bridal party: the owners of the venue brought over a homemade breakfast; mid-morning, a staff member brought in gorgeous fresh flowers just to brighten everyone's day; and my fave touch, was that they handmade a half-flower crown for Kathleen using flowers from their garden! How dreamy is that?!
We carried the braided them throughout all of Kathleen's wedding party for a fun cohesive look.With such great people and vibes this boho dreamy wedding was truly stunning!
BTW-- I am totally OBSESSED with both this venue & the photographers Mary & Roy! Like YES PLEASE!
